The national team striker of Iran is not having a good time at Inter and it’s likely he might part ways with the team sooner than expected.

Mehdi Taremi is the only Iranian player in the top tier of European football. He shone brightly wearing the Porto jersey in the Champions League and the Portuguese league, and even though he wasn’t an ideal age for European teams, the prominent club Inter decided to bring him on board, ultimately signing him on a three-year contract.

So far this season, Taremi has played 632 minutes for Inter, scoring just one goal, which came against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League, and he has provided three assists for his teammates. In Serie A, despite not getting much time on the pitch, he wasn’t able to meet expectations during the minutes he was in the game.

Regarding Taremi’s performance, some Italian media outlets have criticized him, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he ended up at another team in January; especially since he had hoped for more playtime at Inter, which was clearly evident from his discontent after being substituted in the game against Leipzig.

Perhaps if Taremi had stayed at Porto and remained their top striker, he wouldn’t be feeling the stress of possibly being sidelined from the team now.

It remains to be seen what fate awaits Taremi, and whether he will be able to experience the sweet days he had at Porto while playing for Inter as well.
