کارشناسان هندبال: با تجربه مربی اسپانیایی می‌توانیم راهی مسابقات جهانی شویم

رافائل کاستیلو سرمربی اسپانیایی تیم ملی هندبال ایران است که پیش‌تر با تیم ثامن‌الحجج سبزوار قهرمان لیگ و پنجم آسیا شد. او سابقه مربیگری در تیم‌های عربی و قطری را هم دارد و اکنون با قراردادی دو ساله هدایت تیم ملی ایران را برعهده گرفته است.

به گفته کارشناسان، حضور کاستیلو می‌تواند نقش بزرگی در رشد هندبال ایران داشته باشد. او تجربه کافی از کار در آسیا دارد و در گذشته نیز هدایت تیم ملی کشورمان را برعهده داشته است. امید می‌رود که با او بتوانیم سهمیه مسابقات جهانی را کسب کنیم.

رحیمی‌زاده کارشناس هندبال درباره تفاوت وویوویچ و کاستیلو گفت: هرکدام سبک خاص خود را دارند. وویوویچ اکنون سرمربی تیم ملی قطر است و کاستیلو نیز با سابقه‌ای قوی وارد ایران شده است. او زمان کافی برای ایجاد تغییرات در تیم دارد.

وی درباره لیگ برتر هندبال افزود: لیگ امسال با ۱۰ تیم برگزار می‌شود و به دلیل خروج بسیاری از بازیکنان به تیم‌های خارجی، سطح رقابت‌ها کمی پایین آمده است. نبود حامی مالی بزرگ‌ترین مشکل هندبال ایران است و تا زمانی که اسپانسر جذب نشود، رشد این ورزش دشوار خواهد بود.

Experts: With the Spanish coach’s experience, Iran can reach the World Championship

Rafael Castillo, the Spanish coach, has taken charge of Iran’s national handball team with a two-year contract. He previously led Samen Al-Hojaj Sabzevar to a league title and fifth place in the Asian Club Championship. He also coached in Arab and Qatari teams, winning two titles.

Experts believe Castillo’s experience in Asia and his familiarity with Iranian handball can help the team achieve a historic qualification for the World Championship. He previously coached Iran’s national team during his spell in the Iranian league.

Comparing him with Veselin Vujović, another expert said: “Each has their own style. Vujović is now leading Qatar’s national team, while Castillo brings his proven background to Iran.”

The Iranian league currently has 10 teams, but with many top players moving abroad, the overall level has declined. The lack of financial sponsors is seen as the biggest obstacle to handball development in Iran.

Experts stress that if strong sponsors are attracted, Iranian handball could once again bring in foreign players, similar to the 2000s, and raise the league’s quality. Meanwhile, countries like Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Japan are investing heavily to develop their professional handball leagues.
