رییس فدراسیون فوتبال گفت: استانداردسازی و واگذاری ورزشگاه‌ها جزو برنامه‌های وزارت ورزش و جوانان بوده و این موضوع باعث رشد و توسعه فوتبال در کشور می‌شود.

The president of the Football Federation said: Standardizing and transferring stadiums has been part of the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s plans, and this issue will lead to the growth and development of football in the country.

Mehdi Taj stated on Wednesday night at the annual meeting of the Khuzestan Football Board in Ahvaz that the country’s football needs development and progress, and Khuzestan plays a very significant role in this regard.

He mentioned that Khuzestan is the cradle of football in the country and that Khuzestani players have a considerable share in the national football, futsal, and beach soccer teams, adding that the growth of this sport in Khuzestan should continue in a sustainable and strong manner.

Taj pointed out that Khuzestan has valuable roles in the management and sports framework of the country’s football and stated: The capacities in this province are well-known, and the future of the country’s football can be secured by paying attention to the potentials of this province.

He referred to the transfer of partially completed stadiums to football clubs, adding: The Minister of Sports has paid special attention to this issue, and clubs can generate good revenue this way.

The president of the Football Federation of Iran said: The president of the Khuzestan Football Board is expected to pursue futsal and beach soccer matters particularly so that we can see more teams from the province in these two disciplines. Definitely, with a little investment, good results can be achieved in these two areas.

He also mentioned on the sidelines of this event to reporters that if the Ahvaz Foolad and Ghadir stadiums receive the necessary approval, the presence of women will also be allowed in these two stadiums. We are working to resolve the issue of Khuzestani women attending stadiums as soon as possible.

Regarding the recent results of the national team and criticisms of its performance, the president of the Football Federation said: Mr. Ghalenoei and his team are looking to assist the national team, and the players are giving their all on the field.

He stated: This team has performed well in terms of results, but we need to allow fewer goals. Constructive criticism is very good and effective, but it should be expressed clearly.

Additionally, the director general of Sports and Youth in Khuzestan said: The existence of Article 88 (auctioning off sports halls) has crushed sports, and we hope this issue will be resolved with the involvement of the members of parliament.

Hamid Bani Tamim pointed out the ongoing implementation of 25 natural grass fields in the province, stating that 15 of these fields are located in villages and underprivileged areas. Additionally, work is underway on refurbishing 70 artificial turf fields, with 57 of them situated in deprived regions and villages of the province.

The director-general of Sports and Youth in Khuzestan noted the satisfactory condition of the Ghader Stadium in Ahvaz, mentioning that since many competitions take place on the turf at Takhti Stadium in Ahvaz, it’s necessary to create more grass fields in Ahvaz and other cities in the province.

He added, “The ban on organizations from participating in professional sports is a cumbersome law for sports in Khuzestan, and this has caused teams like Naft Abadan, Naft Masjed Soleyman, and National Drilling to tread carefully. We hope this law gets revised with the involvement of parliament members because no other province has suffered from this law as much as Khuzestan.”

Over 10,000 people in Khuzestan are active in football.
