افلاکی: چشم‌انداز ما المپیک لس‌آنجلس است/ نمی‌خواهیم کارمان به اما و اگر بکشد

سرمربی تیم ملی تکواندو با بیان اینکه چشم‌انداز فدراسیون و کادر فنی موفقیت در بازی‌‎های المپیک ۲۰۲۸ لس‌آنجلس است، گفت: باید از همین امروز به فکر جمع‌آوری امتیازات رنکینگ المپیکی باشیم، چراکه نمی‌خواهیم کارمان به اما و اگر بکشد.

The head coach of the national taekwondo team stated that the federation’s vision and the coaching staff’s goal is success at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, adding that we need to start gathering Olympic ranking points from today since we don’t want our situation to become uncertain.

Majid Aflaki, after being reintroduced as the head coach of the men’s national taekwondo team, said: “First, I must say that our vision is success at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. All the federation’s and coaching staff’s plans revolve around achieving a favorable outcome in Los Angeles.”

He added: “Now that I’m back in charge of the national team, I will do everything I can to help us reach our goal.”

Aflaki mentioned: “The World Championships will be held in China next November, and we have a solid plan to participate. Before the year ends, we have the Fujairah tournament, which is very important for us. We’ll try to take part in events to improve our conditions every day.”

The national taekwondo team’s head coach remarked: “We need to start gathering the necessary points for the 2028 Olympic quota from today so that, like in Paris, we don’t find ourselves in a tricky situation, enduring a lot of stress.”

He said: “The world respects Iranian taekwondo, and after our brilliant performance at the Paris Olympics, expectations have skyrocketed.”

In response to a question about whether repeating the successes of the Paris Olympics is possible, Aflaki said: “It’s very difficult, but not impossible.”

Regarding rumors that he has received offers from other countries, he stated: “I don’t want to talk about this, but I will say that Hadi Saei and the federation can only support the national team coaches to a certain extent. The Ministry of Sport and the National Olympic Committee need to clarify the status of coaches for Olympic sports right now, rather than thinking of solutions six months before the event.”

The former world champion added: “My colleagues and I in the coaching staff are not coaching in the league so that we can focus entirely on the national team, and this matter must be compensated for in some way.”

When asked if the changes in the men’s national team coaching staff were made with his input, he explained: “Yes, it was precisely with my input and the approval of the technical committee.”
